Applications

All application deadlines mean RECEIPT of application in the office of the Oklahoma Board of Bar Examiners, NOT a postmark deadline. If a deadline falls on a non-business day (i.e., Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday), applications will be accepted until the close of business on the first day immediately following the deadline. All application fees are non-refundable. Credit cards accepted are Mastercard, Visa and American Express.

REVIEW ALL APPLICATION TYPES, select the appropriate application link to view additional information. All applications are in fillable format to be completed online. Print after completion. Do not print applications in double-sided format.  

An original signature is required. Effective Monday, April 4, 2022, all applications will be required to have a completed notary signature and will no longer be considered timely filed by postmark. All applications are due in the office of the Board of Bar Examiners by close of business on the date of the application deadline.

Law Student Registration
$125.00

This registration application shall be filed on or before October 15 of the 2nd year of law school – Rules Governing Admission, Rule 4 § 2. (You must register if you ever intend to take the Oklahoma bar exam, or apply for Licensed Legal Intern.) THIS IS NOT A BAR EXAM APPLICATION.



Nunc Pro Tunc Registration
$500.00

This registration application is for late registration and shall be filed after October 15 of the 2nd year of law school. (You must register if you ever intend to take the Oklahoma bar exam or apply for Licensed Legal Intern. Should you wish to register and apply for a bar exam at the same time, go to the Nunc Pro Tunc Registration and Exam Application by Law Student.)



Exam Application by Registered Law Student
$650.00

This exam application shall be filed by a person who has previously registered as a law student. The bar exam is administered on the last Tuesday and Wednesday in February and in July. Deadline is six months prior to date of examination. Late filing allowed for two months after deadline with payment of additional fee. To simplify the calculation of the due date, the February exam deadline is September 1 of the year preceding. The July exam deadline is February 1 of the current year. 



Nunc Pro Tunc Registration and Exam Application by law student
$1,150.00

This application shall be filed by a person who has not previously registered as a law student but wishes to apply for the Oklahoma bar exam. The bar exam is administered on the last Tuesday and Wednesday in February and in July. Deadline is six months prior to date of examination. Late filing allowed for two months after deadline with payment of additional fee. To simplify the calculation of the due date, the February exam deadline is September 1 of the year preceding. The July exam deadline is February 1 of the current year.



Exam Application by Attorney
$1,250.00

This application shall be filed by attorneys admitted in other jurisdictions who have not previously registered as a law student and must take the bar exam for admission to this jurisdiction. (Rules Governing Admission, Rule 4, § 1). The bar exam is administered on the last Tuesday and Wednesday in February and in July. Deadline is six months prior to date of examination. Late filing allowed for two months after deadline with payment of additional fee. To simplify the calculation of the due date, the February exam deadline is September 1 of the year preceding. The July exam deadline is February 1 of the current year.



Repeat Exam Application
$650.00

This application is only for exam applicants who have taken and failed a previous exam. Deadline is December 15th for the February exam, May 15th for the July exam. No late filing period.



Admission On Motion - Reciprocity
$2,000.00

Applications may be filed at any time. A minimum of four months should be allowed for processing. (Rules Governing Admission, Rule 2)



UBE Transfer Application
$1,250.00

To transfer a UBE score from another jurisdiction. A score of 264 or higher is eligible for transfer into Oklahoma and should be less than 3 yrs old.  [Note - Scores must be less than 3 years old. Applications for scores older than 3 years and less than 5 years are no longer accepted.][Note effective July 1, 2024 a score of 260 or higher is eligible for transfer into Oklahoma.]



Special Temporary Permit (Rule 2, Sec 7)
$0.00

Temporary Permit for Military Spouses to practice law in Oklahoma without the requirement of taking an examination. See Rules for complete description of eligibility requirements. Applications may be filed at any time. A minimum of four months should be allowed for processing.
